Lita Rossana Ford, popularly called Lita Ford, is a British-born American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. She was the guitarist of The All-Girl Hard Rock Band, The Runaways, in the mid 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious songs helped them gain attention in the rock world. The group was unable to gain a lot of attention in The United States but earned huge recognition in other countries, particularly Japan. Ford began a metal solo career following the band broke up in 1979. After studying voice she released her solo debut album "Out for Blood", followed by "Dancin at the Edge". Ford disappeared for a few time out of the scene after the releases of both albums. The hit album Lita was released in 1989, served as the catalyst that led to her reemergence. The album was an instant success for the single "Kiss Me Deadly," and the ballad 'Close My eyes forever. The singer disappeared from the music industry for a few years after her short-lived success. The release of "Black" on the 15th of November 1995, was immediately followed by the album 'Wicked Wonderland', a little over 15 years following. Her most recent album, Time Capsule was released in 2016. She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
