McKayla Rose Maroney retired from athletic gymnastics, and went on to become an acclaimed singer. She participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics as part of the American Women's Gymnastics team, often referred to as the Fierce Five. At the Olympics she earned an individual silver medal and a team gold. Early life. McKayla Rose Maroney born December 9, 1995, in Aliso Viejo California. She is the daughter Erin Maroney. McKayla comes from Irish Catholic heritage. Tarynn Kav has been her sibling. McKayla was homeschooled in gymnastics. Maroney said, "When I was younger I used to watch Tarzan and jumping about on my fours. Mom told me: "I'm going to have the child do gymnastics.. Lauren Drain was a member of Westboro Baptist Church and wrote Banished in 2013, which recounts her experiences, such as being kicked out of the church. Lauren is married with David Kagan since August 2013 as well as an exercise guru. The couple has one daughter, named Aria Skye Kagan, born on the 29th day of December in 2019. Kagan was a short time living by herself in Topeka and was enthralled by reminders of her banishment from her church and family. She eventually decided to relocate to Connecticut. Her father, mother, two siblings, and her brother were still members of church but cut all connections with her.
